McCartan’s pharmacy, Fairview, formerly Davis’ Pharmacy, has been serving the local community since 1936. Louis Davis MPSI retired in 2003 after a long and successful career as a pharmacist and the pharmacy was taken over by Brian McCartan MPSI. Brian retained all the long serving and loyal staff and has put a huge emphasis on maintaining the pharmacy’s position at the heart of the community in Fairview.

Our focus at McCartan’s Pharmacy is on customer care. We have adapted our product ranges and services down through the years to suit the pharmaceutical and healthcare needs of our patients with whom we have developed lifelong relationships. Our annual Hospice Coffee Morning is always a huge success with the local community and we have raised thousands for cancer research down through the years.

Our supervising pharmacist is Roslyn O’Carroll, who is originally from Co.Armagh and graduated in 2013 in Liverpool.  Roslyn is vaccination and CPR trained. 

Our head technician Gillian Kavanagh has been working in the pharmacy for twenty-five years and has expert knowledge medicines as well as vast knowledge on Nicotine Replacement Therapy, vitamins, homeopathy products and baby care. Kim joined in 2019 and has just completed her technicians course. She has 5 years experience in working in pharmacy.

We also continue to hire young students training to be pharmacists from both Trinity and RCSI. This variety keeps us to the fore in new and innovative medicines coming on line and also lends itself to our experts sharing their knowledge with the students.
